Welcome to Primrose, a delightful café nestled in the heart of Tsukuba, Japan. This charming eatery is a haven for food lovers seeking a taste of Europe without having to leave the comfort of Japan. From the moment you walk through the doors, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, ideal for casual dining or catching up with friends over delicious food.

Primrose is renowned for its delightful fusion of classic European cuisine and contemporary flavors. The menu features a mouth-watering selection of dishes, but their standout offerings are undoubtedly their homemade specialties. Picture this: a generous serving of handmade bacon and ume-flavored pasta that is bursting with flavors. The thick noodles are cooked to perfection, harmoniously melding with the rich garlic undertones and fresh vegetables that give every bite wholesome satisfaction. It's no surprise that diners rave about the cream brûlée and chocolate cake, both of which are sweet endings to a fantastic meal, with the creamy texture of the brûlée melting in your mouth as you savor each spoonful.

Reviewers consistently highlight the café's ample portion sizes. One visitor recently remarked on the “ボリューム満点の大満足パスタ” which translates to “full of volume and completely satisfying pasta.” Many customers have echoed this sentiment, celebrating the generous and tasty servings that make dipping into dessert all the more enjoyable.

However, you might want to secure a reservation, particularly during lunchtimes, when the café fills up quickly with enthusiastic diners eager to experience what Primrose has to offer. The hustle and bustle of patrons speaks to the cafe's popularity, and as mentioned in a review, “you need to reserve a table if you want to eat during lunchtime, getting crowded as it is very popular.” This vibrant atmosphere, mixed with the savory aroma wafting from the kitchen, creates a joyous dining experience you won’t soon forget.

For those venturing to Primrose, prepare to be amazed not just by the flavor but also the cordial service. The staff is friendly and attentive, making your visit even more enjoyable. Take a moment to engage with the handwritten menu—a charming detail that adds to its authenticity. If you're not fluent in Japanese, consider bringing a friend along who can assist in translating, or a picture of the dishes you'd like to try.

Whether you're a local looking for your next favorite spot or a traveler exploring the culinary landscape of Tsukuba, Primrose is a must-visit café. With its outstanding food, captivating ambiance, and memorable experiences, it promises to leave you with not just a filled stomach but also a happy heart.

Very delicious European food, nice atmosphere. Good value for money. Need to reserve a table if you want to eat during lunch time, getting crowdy as it is very popular. Highly recommend.

Amazing and affordable food! This whole set is only 1000yen and it includes bread, salad, crab spaghetti and dessert! Its a must try restaurant around the campus! Take note that theres only handwritten japanese menu in the restaurant. It is difficult to translate using google map. I recommend to bring a friend who can read Japanese or a picture of what you would like to eat.

So me and my friend randomly discovered this place an oh boy did we love it: it's quiet, cozy and serves the biggest portions of delicious unique pasta. And the combo includes a dessert too! The restaurant is owned by an elderly Japanese couple who were very sweet and helpful. Would recommend!
